Located at the entrance of Cotopaxi National Park, the Mariscal Sucre Interpretation Center is your first stop, where you’ll gain key information about the richness of the Andean ecosystem and the fascinating geological history of the volcano. Here you can acclimatize and prepare for the adventure that awaits you.
Limpiopungo Lagoon
Our first stop is this peaceful lagoon, perfect for an acclimatization walk. You’ll enjoy the serenity of the páramo, observe various birds, and capture unmatched views of Cotopaxi and the majestic Rumiñahui massif.
José Ribas Refuge (4,864 masl)
Prepare for a challenging hike ascending the volcanic ash trail to the refuge, a journey that ignites a true sense of adventure. Once you arrive, you can treat yourself to hot chocolate (not included) to warm up while enjoying the panoramic view. Then we return to Quito.
